(Hollywood shoe stores) How to Shop for the Man in your Life this Christmas

By Hannah Jennings

I have good news for every women reading this article. Men are ridiculously easy to buy for. Seriously! We complicate things because we are complicated. We want pampered, soft, time away from the kids and a night of passion with the man we love. We want clothes that fit and flatter, preferably on sale. Today, we focus on the top five things that (almost) any guy will love.

An Air Hogs Alien Invasion remote control helicopter with lasers (that shoot the other aircraft out of the sky) is serious excitement if the guy is anywhere from 5 to deathbed. If the 3 year old could fly it, he would. There are only a miniscule number of men that wouldn’t love this toy.

The second item on the list is an air compressor with several fittings. I know this is a rather pricey item, but again, every man on earth thinks he needs one. There are tires to inflate, paint to air-brush, things to nail, dust to blow and a billion other uses that I don’t even begin to understand.

If an air compressor is out of the question, then may I suggest a 20-gallon shop-vac. Oh, don’t look at me like that. I am so serious. Men might not know why, but they really need one. You can tell when you take them into that aisle at Home Depot. They stop and look longingly at it with a half smile. It may not get used weekly, but then you just might be surprised. A shop-vac may give him a reason to clean out the vehicles.

For the beer lover, the obvious choice is a kegerator. If you cannot afford a kegerator, then the next best thing is a set of Pilsner glasses and the largest pack of his favorite beer you are willing to splurge on. It will be a hit and you will be rewarded with many thanks. Likewise for the wine lover, a simple but nice wine rack filled with wine will be wildly appreciated. Many stores offer a 10% discount if you purchase 6 bottles or more, so purchase a wide selection for him to enjoy.

Last but not least, if you are on a tight budget, then consider a bag of gourmet coffee. Not just any brand, but the good stuff. Go on-line and search out key word terms like “organic, fair trade coffee” or “gourmet organic coffee.” You can guarantee the more certifications the better the coffee, at least in most cases. Then purchase a bag with the roast level of his preference. Or if you aren’t sure, then get a bag of each roast level and let him choose which one he likes best.

If these seem nice, but don’t quite fit your man, then don’t give up and get a gift certificate. That is cheating. Unless it is for Harbor Freight, Sears, Lowe’s, or Home Depot, those are somewhat acceptable, but still need an element that says I thought of you when I saw this. If at first you don’t find something right off the bat, then consider asking what they want. They will probably give you at least something to work with. After all, they aren’t women.

Economic Recessions Are Part Of The Business Cycles
By Paul Hata

An economic recession is normal because it is part of the business cycle. This usually happens after the economy recovers, expands and then slows down again which usually last for 2 to 4 consecutive quarters.

Unlike the four seasons we experience every year namely spring, summer winter and fall, this does not happen annually. The last time we had to deal with this was 8 years ago and during the early 2000’s.

The indicators which the economic experts look at to tell if something is wrong include consumer spending, the unemployment rate, industrial production, real income and wholesale trade. To help stimulate the economy, the Federal Reserve lowers the interest rate.

Unfortunately, this does improve the situation overnight and since it takes months before we are able to see any improvement, we have to do our share to cope with the current situation.

People will have to tighten their belts, which means buying items only when it is necessary. A good example is food since we need this on a daily basis. If there are other companies that offer similar services at a lower rate, it will be a good idea to switch as well.

Another thing most people will need to do is trade in their large vehicles for those that are more fuel efficient. This is not surprising because many have already done so even before the economic slowdown because of the increase in price per barrel of oil.

Businesses on their part have no other recourse but to slash jobs in other to stay in afloat. The bad news is that you just increased the number of people who are unemployed.

So should companies slash jobs? Not really because if the company focuses more on customer service, lowering their price points and making reductions elsewhere, customers will still patronize their business. When the current situation improves, the price of these goods and commodities can go back to where they were before.

Is an economic recession all bad? The good news is no because it opens a lot of opportunities for people who have money. For instance, investors will be able to borrow money at a low interest rate from the bank and people will be able to bonds, properties as well as stocks at very affordable prices.

But this is something that not everybody will be able to do. Instead of saving money, some can make money on the side by offering their skills to others.

An economic recession comes and goes. It does not happen only in the US but in Europe and Asia as well. Many experts believe that the current economic recession happening now will have an impact elsewhere and they are right because the European Union has finally admitted that they are currently experiencing a slowdown.

Since you are not sure if an economic recession will affect you or not, it is best to be prepared by paying close attention to your personal finances. You should learn to save up by putting your money in the back, investing in things that will have good returns in the future and not buying items which you know you can’t afford.

If you need help, hire a financial planner to help you out so you are sure that if the inevitable does occur, you are safe.

A Short Guide to Marrakech
By Patrick Omari

Marrakech is a walled city surrounded by lush landscape in the centre of Morocco. Its name comes from the Amazigh, or Berber for Land of God.

Within the city walls lies a maze of derbs, narrow alleys leading to no where but ocassionally you might come across something exciting such as the Djemaa el Fna. One of the largest and busiest squares in Africa. During the day orange juice sellers, snake charmers, dancers and storytellers gather in the centre of the square surrounded by inquisitive tourists and locals. By night the center of the square is full of street entertainers and food stalls. This is when the square is at its busiest.

Next to the Djemaa el Fna is the Souk, a maze of undercover stalls that although hectic on first appearances is actually very well organised, with metal workers, clothing, leatherworkers, carpenters and jewellers all in the same area as each other. A walk through the souks is hectic, but you always know where you are by looking at whats for sale on the nearest stall.

Once you’re within the city walls and immersed in the culture of Marrakech it can be very hard to leave the city. Outside the walls traditional style buildings give way to more modern styles although the characteristic red and orange colours remain.

Everything feels a lot less confined and is able to spread out amongst the meticulously maintained gardens and orchards. The most famous of these is the Majorelle Garden, designed by Jacques Majorelle and now owned by Yves Saint-Laurent and Pierre Berge. When Yves Saint-Laurent died his ashes were scattered in the garden. It offers an peaceful experience as children are not permitted in the garden.

Marakech is a great destination for all sorts of requirements. If your an avid shopper and want to find a bargain the souks are the place to go, with designer clothes and all manner of items being sold there. If your persistant enough you could come away with a great deal.

If your in need of a relaxing break a stroll through the gardens or a stay in a traditional riad could be just what you need. Located within the city walls a traditional Riad is a sanctary from the loud, narrow streets of the Medina. Riads are easily available to rent and are fast becoming a popular holiday or second home.

The design of the building means that it is inward facing with all the rooms opening onto an open space in the center of the building, there are little or no windows on the outside meaning the noise is kept to a minimum.

Riads usually come with kitchen staff as there are no supermarkets in Marrakech, everything comes fresh. Many Riads will also offer a massage therapist and a house boy to organise any trips you wish to make, they will also try to fill any special requests you might make which they are more than happy to do. A quiet night in a riad is all you need to recover from a busy day in the souks.
