4. Get your family to help

Dealing with economic recession and making sure that the family survives is the responsibility of every member of the family. 5. Get your neighbors to help

Spending less is probably the easiest way to go, explaining to your kids why they received less than Timmy down the road is never easy but an essential life lesson. We all have a great excuse this year to spend less money and quite frankly consume less. The Christmas holidays create a massive amount of waste, first the wrapping paper, the boxes the products come in and the fact that your child will find his new toy boring and never play with it again after about 3 months. Spending less is not only good for your pocket book it’s great for environment.

The next option you have is buying used and while this doesn’t always appeal to everyone sites like Ebay have a plethora of great used goods that can easily be passed off as new. Women, if you want something, write it down on a list, and stick the list in his wallet. Keep it to five things - maximum. Write the price range, and best store to purchase the item at. Let him know about the list and update it regularly. Include in the list your favorite color, flower, and clothing size you wear (the actual size, not like your drivers license weight.)

If you don’t have a list to go on, I have five options that should work for about 80% of women. Oh, and as a note, we consider gift cards cheating unless we specifically request them. I don’t care what the commercials say. That isn’t what we want. Also, clothing is completely off limits unless we have sent you in for a specific item, in a specific color and specific size. We have to try on an item and see how it, and the two sizes above and below, fit. Trust me, you don’t know us that well.

The first sure-fire gift is a bouquet of flowers that tells us you have planned dinner out complete with babysitting (for those that have kids) and coffee after. There isn’t much a romantic dinner can’t solve. We like to know that you have thought about the elements of a night out. If you have it to splurge, then a night at a great hotel is more than likely to end very well.

The next super great gift is several spa items. Bath salts, scented (or unscented if she has allergies) candles, and a warm soft robe are all items that say, “I want to take care of you.” They are all going to be well received and can be tailored to fit any women’s tastes and interests. For example, there is organic cotton, all the way to fine Egyptian cotton robes. Find the one that best suites your budget.

Still thinking, not quite what you had in mind. Then look to her sweet side. Most women can be wooed with splendid chocolates and gourmet coffee.  I have good news for every women reading this article. Men are ridiculously easy to buy for. Seriously! We complicate things because we are complicated. We want pampered, soft, time away from the kids and a night of passion with the man we love. We want clothes that fit and flatter, preferably on sale. A shop-vac may give him a reason to clean out the vehicles.

For the beer lover, the obvious choice is a kegerator. If you cannot afford a kegerator, then the next best thing is a set of Pilsner glasses and the largest pack of his favorite beer you are willing to splurge on. It will be a hit and you will be rewarded with many thanks. Likewise for the wine lover, a simple but nice wine rack filled with wine will be wildly appreciated. Many stores offer a 10% discount if you purchase 6 bottles or more, so purchase a wide selection for him to enjoy.

Last but not least, if you are on a tight budget, then consider a bag of gourmet coffee. Not just any brand, but the good stuff. Go on-line and search out key word terms like “organic, fair trade coffee” or “gourmet organic coffee.” You can guarantee the more certifications the better the coffee, at least in most cases. Then purchase a bag with the roast level of his preference. Or if you aren’t sure, then get a bag of each roast level and let him choose which one he likes best.

 An economic recession is normal because it is part of the business cycle. This usually happens after the economy recovers, expands and then slows down again which usually last for 2 to 4 consecutive quarters.

Unlike the four seasons we experience every year namely spring, summer winter and fall, this does not happen annually. The last time we had to deal with this was 8 years ago and during the early 2000’s.

The indicators which the economic experts look at to tell if something is wrong include consumer spending, the unemployment rate, industrial production, real income and wholesale trade. To help stimulate the economy, the Federal Reserve lowers the interest rate.

Unfortunately, this does improve the situation overnight and since it takes months before we are able to see any improvement, we have to do our share to cope with the current situation.

People will have to tighten their belts, which means buying items only when it is necessary. A good example is food since we need this on a daily basis. If there are other companies that offer similar services at a lower rate, it will be a good idea to switch as well.

Another thing most people will need to do is trade in their large vehicles for those that are more fuel efficient. This is not surprising because many have already done so even before the economic slowdown because of the increase in price per barrel of oil.

Businesses on their part have no other recourse but to slash jobs in other to stay in afloat. The bad news is that you just increased the number of people who are unemployed.

So should companies slash jobs? Not really because if the company focuses more on customer service, lowering their price points and making reductions elsewhere, customers will still patronize their business. When the current situation improves, the price of these goods and commodities can go back to where they were before.

Is an economic recession all bad? The good news is no because it opens a lot of opportunities for people who have money. For instance, investors will be able to borrow money at a low interest rate from the bank and people will be able to bonds, properties as well as stocks at very affordable prices.

But this is something that not everybody will be able to do. Instead of saving money, some can make money on the side by offering their skills to others.

One of the largest and busiest squares in Africa. By night the center of the square is full of street entertainers and food stalls. This is when the square is at its busiest.

Next to the Djemaa el Fna is the Souk, a maze of undercover stalls that although hectic on first appearances is actually very well organised, with metal workers, clothing, leatherworkers, carpenters and jewellers all in the same area as each other. A walk through the souks is hectic, but you always know where you are by looking at whats for sale on the nearest stall.

Once you’re within the city walls and immersed in the culture of Marrakech it can be very hard to leave the city. Outside the walls traditional style buildings give way to more modern styles although the characteristic red and orange colours remain.

Everything feels a lot less confined and is able to spread out amongst the meticulously maintained gardens and orchards. The most famous of these is the Majorelle Garden, designed by Jacques Majorelle and now owned by Yves Saint-Laurent and Pierre Berge. When Yves Saint-Laurent died his ashes were scattered in the garden. It offers an peaceful experience as children are not permitted in the garden.

This means that you would receive a check for the cost of the Home and the Land.You would therefore have enough money to rebuild your house plus the value of the land left over. In this scenario you would be able to rebuild a much larger home.  In metropolitan areas where land value is excessively high, or where you have a large parcel of land, you would be able to build a much larger house resulting in a larger completed home value. In other words you would profit from an insurance claim, which, by law is illegal. Payment of an  insurance claim is an indemnification transaction, not a profiting one.
